Beaver Marsh Rest Area, Oregon – Free Overnight RV Parking

As far as rest areas go, Beaver Marsh Rest Area, along US-97, just 5 miles south of Chemult, OR, is not that spectacular. It’s looks rather old, and definitely in need of a remodeling. And, it’s not necessarily that quiet, despite being located on a US highway rather than an interstate.

But with 25 spaces for trucks and RVs, there’s plenty of overnight parking.

The entire state of Oregon allows for 12 hours of parking, but in our experience with Oregon rest areas, you can stay longer without incident. We’ve stayed up to 20 hours at French Prairie Rest Area, and 18 hours at another one.

The only amenities are restrooms, drinking fountains, and garbage cans.

Verizon 4G signal came in average here, about 3/5 bars.

If you don’t mind the sound of trucks parking and leaving all through the night, Beaver Marsh Rest Area felt safe when Sash and I stayed here. It wasn’t too hard to tune out the noise.

I'm a "Man in Black", one of those guys who goes around dressed in black suits, looking for people who were abducted by UFOs so that we can keep them quiet. Sash and I travel around in this trailer awaiting orders from headquarters for my next assignment. I can't show you the details of my work, but I can show you how I live.
