Season 1, Episode 1: Road Pickle Begins in Tucson, AZ

Road Pickle has now turned into a vlog!

Sash and I arrived in Tucson, AZ as part of a 4-week round trip from San Diego, CA to Nappanee, IN and back. Why Nappanee? Because our brand new toy hauler is being built there, and we’ll be picking up from the factory. Instead of staying in hotels during our motorcycling journeys, we’ll be living in a toy hauler.

Right now we’re driving our pickup truck and trying to get it prepared to pull a trailer.  When we get back to San Diego, we’ll load up the bikes and get the Road Pickling started.

In this first episode of Road Pickle, Sash meets her friend Chris Black at 5 Points Market & Restaurant for some damn good coffee and tea. Chris Black and her husband Mike are ambassadors for Royal Enfield, one of the world’s oldest motorcycle brands, and they document their motorcycling adventures on “Adventures of Olive and Emilie:. We also found a great little pizza place called 1702 Craft Beer & Pizza. The video ends with a view of 4th Avenue, a tourist destination in Tucson.

More about the places mentioned:

5 points market and restaurant tucson5 Points Market & Restaurant: An eclectic destination where an organic food market converges with a hip coffee shop scene, located just south of downtown. Amidst the revitalization of Tucson’s barrio neighborhood, locals are now flocking 5 Points for its light fare, locally grown produce, and creative coffee concoctions. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served! Link: http://www.5pointstucson.com/

Chris and Mike Black: As ambassadors for Royal Enfield, Tucson residents Chris and Mike offer a unique spin on the motorcycling couples lifestyle, riding their 500cc bikes all across the western United States and promoting brand of the world’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer. Follow their adventures on their Facebook page, “Adventures of Olive and Emilie”: https://www.facebook.com/OliveAndEmilie/

1702 Craft Beer & Pizza: Tucson’s craft beer scene has really ramped up over the past several years, and now we’re seeing a new subculture: craft beer and craft pizzerias under one roof. 1702 Craft Beer & Pizza is Tucson’s newest entry into this genre. 1702 is not just a taphouse with dozens of brands and varieties, but its own brewery “Address Brewing Company”. We tried their newest offering, “Habanero White IPA”, and paired it with their “Italia” pizza. Link: http://www.1702az.com

Hey there! Just a quick correction we DO NOT serve dinner at 5 points. Hours are 7am-3pm daily. Thanks for the beautiful write-up!

I'm a "Man in Black", one of those guys who goes around dressed in black suits, looking for people who were abducted by UFOs so that we can keep them quiet. Sash and I travel around in this trailer awaiting orders from headquarters for my next assignment. I can't show you the details of my work, but I can show you how I live.
