WalMart Quincy, IL: Free Overnight Parking

May 1, 2017: Our first experience staying overnight in a WalMart parking lot was in Quincy, IL.

When we left Hollywood Casino RV Park in Joliet, we figured on just staying overnight at a WalMart somewhere. It turned out that Quincy, IL offered the right amount of miles for a day’s travel.

Sash called the WalMart ahead of time and asked permission. They didn’t mind at all.

When we got there, we found several trucks already parked there for the night. We initially chose a spot closest to the Ford dealership, but soon found ourselves surrounded by the local “Fast and Furious” chapter, honking their air horns and screeching their tires.

So, I moved the trailer to the other end of WalMart’s parking lot, and found more peace and quiet.

It was a very cold night, and the wind was blowing quite strong. But otherwise, we weren’t bothered at all. By about 9:00 AM, we had moved on.

I'm a "Man in Black", one of those guys who goes around dressed in black suits, looking for people who were abducted by UFOs so that we can keep them quiet. Sash and I travel around in this trailer awaiting orders from headquarters for my next assignment. I can't show you the details of my work, but I can show you how I live.
