Boom-a-Rang Diner: Bristow, OK

May 5, 2017: After an overnight stay at the WalMart in Bristow, OK (which by the way is an awesome WalMart to overnight at, despite the many trucks that stay there), Sash and I headed into town to meetup with Gabriele and Ken, two friends of ours.

Gabriele and Ken were in town for the Route 66 Motorcycle Rally.

We decided to have breakfast at Boom-a-Rang Diner.

Boom-a-Rang is a chain of Americana-style diners located throughout Oklahoma that celebrates iconic classics of Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and Route 66. You get old school diner cooking like catfish, chicken-fried steak, chicken-and-waffles, meatloaf, BLTs, you name it.

We were all very impressed with the friendly service.

I had the “all you can eat catfish” which was their special that day. Sash had the chicken-fried steak. The catfish was to die for! Tender, breaded in corn flour, with seasonings. Ahh! Sash found the chicken-fried steak as good as the one she had at Cattleman’s II Cafe in Liberal, KS. Thick, tender steak but fried crispy on the outside.

Meanwhile, Asphalt Annie was feeling rather frisky that morning. Perhaps it was the sight of so many bikers in town for the rally.

For Sash and I, being in Oklahoma felt amazing after so many days of cold and rain. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and you could see for miles.

I'm a "Man in Black", one of those guys who goes around dressed in black suits, looking for people who were abducted by UFOs so that we can keep them quiet. Sash and I travel around in this trailer awaiting orders from headquarters for my next assignment. I can't show you the details of my work, but I can show you how I live.
