Orange Grove RV Park – Review

Written by Steve Johnson
California, Camping Bakersfield Leave a Comment

Arguably the best RV park in Bakersfield, CA is Orange Grove RV Park.

It’s situated in the middle of an actual orange grove. You can pick all the oranges you want, and bask in the scent of orange blossoms. It’s actually quite amazing to smell!

I think many RVers will also claim Bakersfield RV Park as a contender for the best RV Park, but honestly, I think Orange Grove RV Park is better.

Orange Grove RV Park separates monthly residents from weekly and daily visitors into different sections, whereas Bakersfield RV Park tends to mix them all in. If you’re staying at Orange Grove RV Park for the week or just a night, you’ll fit right in with other RVers and you won’t have to look at rigs with tons of personal belongings scattered about their spaces. Both Orange Grove RV Park and Bakersfield RV Park have very comparable amenities, though Bakersfield RV Park has both a pool and spa, whereas Orange Grove RV Park has only a pool. Both parks are very easy to get in and out of.

Pricewise, Orange Grove RV Park is a few dollars cheaper than Bakersfield RV Park, and seems to be more popular with RVers too.

Yet, Sash and I both fell in love with Orange Grove RV Park for the abundance of free oranges to pick. It also doesn’t look so much like an RV Park because of the many orange trees about.

Verizon 4G coverage comes in great at Orange Grove RV Park, while the free Wi-Fi actually worked well for us here too.

If you want to take advantage of the orange picking and the blossoming season, come here in the Spring. We stayed here for a week during March 2018.

I'm a "Man in Black", one of those guys who goes around dressed in black suits, looking for people who were abducted by UFOs so that we can keep them quiet. Sash and I travel around in this trailer awaiting orders from headquarters for my next assignment. I can't show you the details of my work, but I can show you how I live.
